| **Approval Delegation** allows the approver to delegate approval responsibility to a proxy approver for a temporary period of time. PECOS P2P will divert all documents from the inbox of the designated approver to the proxy for as long as the defined timeframe is valid.
| |||
| Reasons why it might be necessary to select an alternate approver include:
| |||
| * Holidays | ||
| * Leave of absence or secondment
| * Meetings | ||
| * Illness | ||
| * Time constraint in times of heavy workload
| |||
| Not all approvers will necessarily have the right to delegate their approval tasks. The approval delegation feature is controlled by the system administrator and permission to delegate is granted through a user role.
| |||
| Approval can be delegated only to another PECOS P2P user but can be for any defined time period (see [[Approval Delegation>>PECOS Approval Guide.Approval Delegation]]).
| |||
| System Administrators (within their designated authority) also have the ability to create and edit approval delegations. |
